A Publicist’s Office Makeover

A publicist for wedding planners and other lifestyle brands should naturally have an eye for style and beauty. Leila Kahlil of Be Inspired PR is no exception as you can see from her transformed  office space.

Here is what it looked like before:

Leila did a wonderful job decorating her office, especially how this isn’t part of her job description. She wasn’t afraid to use color in a lot of places which seems to be a common mistake. The cost of her office wasn’t noted, but I can tell from all the pieces that the majority of the furniture, and accessories were purchased from Ikea making it seem like it didn’t cost her an arm and a leg.

Decorating an office from scratch isn’t as easy as one might think. On one hand, you don’t have any limits with furniture, and you basically have a blank canvas to work with. On the other hand, you may not know where to start.

Some tips on working with an empty office:

  • Start with a plan.
  • On paper draw the space you are working with, it doesn’t need to be professional.
  • Make of a list of the essential furniture pieces you need.
  • Make a budget( and try to stick with it!).
  • Make a checklist of things to do, buy etc.

What did you think of Leila’s makeover?

Creating Workspaces you want to work in can be hard. I’ve busted my tush over it at times. Inspiration comes from everywhere, my style – Ikea workstations, beatiful 1920s to 1940s artwork with a 12% Moroccan vibe thrown in. HEAVEN!
