Describe your office space to us
The office is set in a fashionable 30′s building in the center of Tirana and it consists of a 130 sqm space. Three small rooms hosting the administrative, directors and post-production functions are connected with a vast common space, in which a big meeting table, a small library, a coffee corner and a work desk are arranged. Nearly all the furniture consist of stacked wooden palletes (EPAL). We fabricated lighting fixtures ourselves, to fulfill our needs for a minimalistic design and customized lengths.
Where did the inspiration for your office space design come from?
There are many beautiful examples of using palletes in the design of furniture and pavillions. They surely are a good input for our inspiration. But the moment we decided to turn to this solution was when we realized that market products could not fulfill any of our needs both aesthetic and functional. Palletes are an excellent module to build ideas and aestheticly they have a beautiful simplicity that fits with both, the kind of work we do and our character as a youthful studio.
What is your favorite part/design of your office space and why?
We sometimes convert our meeting table in a table tennis. It has the right size for a good game. We recently added a white iron frame in one of our walls. We are using it to hang the polaroids we make every now and then. If you ask our cat, the upper library shelf is his favourite part.
Do you feel that having a well designed and inspiring office has changed the way you and your employees work?
We do creative work and a well designed environment is vital for our motivation as a staff. We spend most of our day in the office, and we are quite happy when sometimes our friends come to see us in the office instead of inviting us in a bar.
If you could use one word to describe the feel of the office space, what would it be?
Youthful!

Anima Pictures ( www.anima.al) is a multimedia and film production studio. We produce TV commercials and we are producing the albanian version of Extreme Makeover Home Edition ( www.ngaepara.al) , which is directly related to architecture and design. A well-designed office space is the starting point to the quality of our final product. The physical space where we work is merged with the output we give.
