What’s on your desk right now?

On my desk right now is a cup of coffee, a yellow highlighter, a notepad and pen, an invite to a home design/remodel event, my laptop, of course, an organizing magazine I plan to peruse, and then a few decorative touches—lamp, flowers, etc.

What’s the one thing on your desk you can’t live without?

I hate to give the obvious response, but as a blogger I rely a great deal on my computer. I’m constantly using it to write and edit blog posts, to keep up with emails, and to find inspiration.

How does your desk look throughout your day? i.e. tornado, pristine, etc

Throughout the day, my desk remains pretty neat and organized. At most there may be a few stray papers out that I’m currently referencing. My workspace, including both my desk, and the room as a whole, has to be organized in order for me to be able to focus and be productive. Anything out of place or messy will nag at me until I just abandon my work and straighten things out.

The one thing that’s always scatter-brained about my desk (and my space in general, in fact)? Hair elastics! I have this terrible habit of putting my hair up and then taking it back down throughout the day. I take the hair tie out, then somehow misplace it, and grab a new one from the bathroom. I end up with hair ties all over the place– I eventually find them everywhere!

What is the one thing on your desk that inspires you?

As I said, my laptop is really just a portal into this amazing world where inspiration abounds. I’m constantly inspired by other bloggers—there are so many awesome chicks in the blogging community that I admire. They put themselves, their whole personalities, and their taste out there for the world to see, and I love them all the more for it.

If you could be any office supply, what would it be and why?

I would be a paperclip—because I hold everything together. :)

Your favorite item from SortingwithStyle.com:

I love the Ceramic Memo Board. I’m not really into the idea of a huge whiteboard. But I’m also a big proponent of the post-it note. I’m always jotting down little reminders to myself. I love the idea of being able to have a similarly-sized product to a post-it, but one that’s not going to just get crumpled up, lost, etc.
