It’s clear I’m an Apple fan. Scratch that, it’s clear I am big tech geek when it comes to the latest gadgets and accessories. A couple months back I had the pleasure of trying out tons of iPad cases so you guys got to see what’s out there before investing in something. You already know what I’m about to say right?

Yep, now we are on to iPhone 4 cases, skins and accessories. We’ve already started on a few things like these super cool speakers, and we’re excited to tell you about all the other cool things we’ve come across and tried. So expect tons of iPhone related posts this month mixed into our celebrity interviews, office profiles, and quotes of the week.

Besides my latest tech toy (iPhone 4), I’m pretty excited to share all the new and cool office supplies we’ve got coming into our store, SortingwithStyle.com. I’ve taken this summer to really scout for new, fun and interesting office items to help brighten up your work day. If you’re sitting in that cubicle all day long, you have no excuse as to why you’re surrounded by a mess of boring and bland desk accessories. Your desk is pretty much the only thing you can personalize in your office sometimes, so really take advantage of that.

Remember, you spend more time working than you do sleeping, so don’t neglect such a big part of your life.

A.K.A. The Office Stylist

Some people think that working always involves someone going into an office from 9-5. I’m here to tell you that times are and have been changing.  It’s quite normal to have employees work from home and more and more people starting businesses. On top of that, you have your stay at home parents and road sales warriors too. What does that all mean?

It means your typical office is no longer typical. Companies far and wide have chosen to have better office design and open spaces to have a more positive and engaging environment for their employees. Home workers are finding their freedom to be a blessing and are investing in things to create the workspace they want. Workers that are constantly traveling are even finding ways at personalizing their work. Even if you’re in a cubicle, there are ways to dress it up, even small tweaks here and there to make your workspace the environment you want.

With that being said, there is no reason you shouldn’t live well at work(c). You don’t need to hate walking into your office, eat bad snacks through out the day or stick to a strict 80′s version of an office wardrobe. If I was still in school I would be celebrating the fact that school is officially out. Summer days and summer nights to look forward to, without any added stress. As an adult I still look forward to summer because it’s a great time to catch up on things, and to spend some time at the beach.

Since most people choose to have their vacations in the summer, I find that it’s the least busy time of the year. A decrease in traffic on the road and out of office email replies help create space to get to things I’ve been neglecting. But what about you guys? One thing I know some of you can do during this “slow” period is update your workspaces. If you’ve put off the task of cleaning and styling your workspace, now is the time to get to it! Make a list of the top 5 things you’d want to change and do just one of those per week. Before you know it, you’ve created a workspace you actually like to work in.

Hello!

It’s a beautiful day today and I can say I am so blessed to have the freedom to work where I choose. Though today is a rather busy Monday, I can take a quick 15 minute drive and head to the beach for work if I fancy. Of course I have an office and do a lot of my work there, but as an Office Stylist and Entrepreneur, I find myself on the go a lot. What better way than to take my work with me than with an iPad?

If you haven’t noticed, not once during the iPad’s first release in April have we talked about it. The reasons behind this is I didn’t feel we should recommend a slew of products, including the iPad without trying it out first. The iPad is talked about so much these days that it’s hard to find articles that actually focus on the use of the product and it’s accessories, and instead we see articles about the release. Sure we could add to the hundreds of thousands of “Introducing the iPad” articles, but what’s the point?

My iPad 3G arrived Friday along with tons and tons of cases, accessories, screen protectors and more that I will be testing and talking about throughout the month of May. Though I’ve only had the iPad a few short days, I already know it’s going to be an amazing impact on accessing my work where ever I go. It certainly doesn’t hurt that this is one stylish piece of technology either.

Spring is finally here! We all know what goes hand in hand with spring time right? No, it’s not just our taxes but spring cleaning. Rather than tackle your over stuffed closet at home, see about fixing up your work space instead.

I’ve been doing a lot of thinking about all the neglected workspaces I see every day, and I’m here to tell you that it’s more important than you may think. Set aside the fact that a dull or boring workspace is beyond less than inspiring or fun to look at, think about your productivity and how you FEEL at work. A cluttered desktop, gray walls, a makeshift office on your couch, and other scenarios are what you want to fix immediately.

This month I want you to pay special attention to the renewal and revamping of your office/work area. Whether you are in a cubicle, have your own office, or you work from home, this is the one area to pay close attention too. Did you know we spend more hours during the day working than we do sleeping? And that we spend more time at work than we do anywhere else? This is the one place to focus your attention on and make it the place you want it to be.

Some quick things to point you in the right direction:

• Be sure to check out our Office Profiles for extra inspiration
• Check out the Porsche mouse to give yourself a laugh while working
• Switch out your boring brown bag for something with some color

Remember, whether it’s packing your lunch in a bright or personalized lunch bag, cleaning off your desktop and adding fun desk accessories, or adding some fun colors into your work wardrobe, the main focus here is to live well at work, wherever work is©.

Spring is just around the corner and I couldn’t be happier. Though I love to spend the cold (or what we consider cold in LA) snuggled up by the fireplace, it’s time to get outdoors and enjoy that California sunshine! Also time to bring out those bright spring colors for both work and play. Consider the next few months your excuse to wear that pink button up under your blazer or a brightly colored tie for the gentleman.

I love the Easter decorations that fill an office around this time, the sundresses I basically live in until Fall, and of course, the bright beautiful colors I infuse into everything I do. I get asked a lot how I choose the products on SortingwithStyle.com and a lot of it has to do with what inspires me. Spring flowers and colors are what brought in the gorgeous Forsythia Pencil Cups & Notebooks. The bright yellow just scream “Spring!”
