Painting Stripes on a Wall: Our latest office update!

Making over our office from drab to fab has been a fun process and heres our latest update!

As I’ve mentioned in all the posts tracking the progress of our office, we are going to post bit by bit and then do one big feature when its all done. We’ve been working with some amazing vendors through this process and can’t wait to share them all in one list. For the stripes we used Martha Stewart‘s new line of paint found at Home Depot. The Color is TIN and came out really pretty. Our office was initially painted all purple, except for this awesome black chalkboard wall. The wall behind my desk was just plain purple and I was trying to decide what to do here. I knew I wanted something silver, something different, and something to add to the already awesome office. Turns out, stripes were it! If you’re looking to do this yourself, here is a quick over view of what you need to do:

Materials:

1. Gallon of Martha Stewart Paint, TIN

2. Paint Brushes, Bin, Water, etc. All painting supplies

3. A LOT of painters tape

4. Tape measure/Ruler

Process: First you need to tape off the sections you don’t want painted and the stripes as well. This is what took the longest for us to have done. We measured out 12 inch stripes and taped accordingly. Unforunately we decided not to prime so it took FIVE coats of paint. Getting the tape up is the biggest pain, after that painting is a breeze.

Colors we were choosing from, all from the Martha Stewart line. TIN is on the very left.

Out and About with The Office Stylist: An Afternoon of Fashion

The Office Stylist team was out and about yesterday at the LA event, an Afternoon of Fashion. Since we’re always on the hunt for cool products and office finds, we were excited to attend one of LA’s fun events + pop up shops. We got to scout some cool school supplies, cute bow ties, fashion that works for both the office and a night out and tried the most amazing ice cream EVER. Take a peek at some of the fun, vendors and finds.
