Desk Makeover for a Career Change
A close family friend of mine recently started her career in real estate and asked me for help with her cubicle. Naturally I was excited to help and even MORE excited to learn that I would start with a fresh palette. Let me show you what I mean:
Let me tell you a little bit about her:
-Fashionable
-Loves beauty
-GREAT taste
Now we can’t do anything about the furniture so we are going to have to work with accessories instead. The great thing about having desk accessories as items of a makeover is that if you get tired of the look, it’s not going to cost you an arm and a leg.
Here is what I would suggest:
Since she is starting fresh we needed to give her the bare essentials like a fabulous pencil cup, letter tray, paperclip holder, memo mousepad. We all know how handy sticky notes come in, as well as a desk pen that is always within reach. She’ll need a calculator for all those deals she’ll be making along with a gorgeous pen to sign on the dotted line. A beautiful lamp to bring in some more beauty to her space and a diamond paperweight as the cherry on top of it all.
As we all know how mobile real estate agents are, she will need to have a chic and trendy black patent file tote, faux snake skin business card holder, and decorative file folders to keep track of loads of home appraisals.
With all this handy she is sure to stand out and make those work days a little more bearable. Her cubicle will certainly be the talk of the office and envy!
What does your cubicle look like? Could it use some help?
