A DIY ( Do it yourself) home office makeover where almost every element is installed and built by you is obviously no easy task. It involves a lot of measuring, careful planning, and motivation to finish the project. We happen to come by an adorable DIY home office makeover that transformed a bare, and rather small space into a bright green work center.

The Office Stylist’s Notes:
If you’ve got a really small room that needs to work as your office, built in furniture is a good way to maximize the space. The desk in this makeover fits right into the corner and the built in shelves allow for more space than this room would normally allow. A splash of green paint, with black + white curtains are great additions/changes to complete this office. Building a desk unit over the radiator helps to detract away from an otherwise unavoidable ugly home appliance.
What I love:
- Clean
- Bright
- Love the curtains!
- Great office accessories
- Great use of a small space
What I would suggest:
Everything here seems to fit together perfectly except for the office chair. Though it’s not as bad as some of the chairs I’ve seen, it should still be replaced at some point. It’s color is pretty, but doesn’t match the rest of the space. Your office chair and desk are the two most important pieces of furniture in your workspace/office, so keep this in mind when you shop for these pieces. Invest in high quality, well designed pieces and you won’t regret it.

Love the celery green and black and white combinations! The storage is great, and the colors provide enough chicness to inspire you to work!

I love the basic square cabinets and nooks. Strangely enough the setup here is what I’d love to have for my music studio (sans the windows of course). You’re so right about the perception of space. The BEFORE photo makes the room look so tiny, I can hardly believe it’s the same room!
