We all love to chat at the office, don’t we? You’re there for over 8 hours a day, with the same people, day in and day out. You’re bound to get comfortable, and want to tell your co-workers things that actually are better left unsaid.

1. The “I hate working here, don’t you?”

Not everyone has the joy of working for a company they love (hint hint) but that doesn’t mean you should share with your “friends” at work how you feel. You may think that Jessica is your best work friend, but she is still your co-worker, and at the end of the day you never know who she is sharing your thoughts with. If you come to find that your boss thinks you may not be a fit for the company, we’re not saying point fingers, but we will say, “I told you so.”

2. The ” Pssst, you know that John and I are dating right?”

Most offices have a strict no dating policy, and even if they don’t it’s normally not looked highly upon. If you are in an office relationship then keep this between you and the other person, or deal with being the “talk” of the office.

3. The “I hate my boss, I hate my boss, I HATE my boss”

Chances are, while you’re busy telling your friend how much you hate the boss, she’s busy working at getting the promotion over you. Most likely, she enjoys every minute of your griping because she knows she is that much closer than you, to her promotion. Keep your thoughts about the boss to yourself or for your non-work friends and family.

All of this may seem extremely obvious, but you’d really be surprised how many people break these rules, and end up losing their jobs or just wanting to quit due to the office gossip. Living well at work doesn’t just mean having a stylish and functional workspace, it’s taking care of your overall Office Life.
