We are just drooling over the green cabinet in this office as well as number of other parts of the decor. This home office makeover made a huge transition you almost can’t believe what the room looked like before! The after photos has us all rethinking our own home offices…

TheOfficeStylist: Describe your office to us:

My office is a happy, eclectic mix of modern and vintage pieces.  It’s a fun, cheery place to work.

TOS: What is your favorite part of your office and why?

My favorite part is the Kelly green campaign dresser.  I found it for $40 at a second-hand furniture shop and it was a dull gray.  After painting it green, I think it really became the focal point of the room.  It also provides a lot of great storage.

TOS: What was your inspiration for your office makeover?

I knew I wanted to work with a bright green/dark gray color scheme.  It just felt really modern, and different than most office spaces I had seen.

TOS: How did you feel working in your office before your makeover?

It made me a nervous wreck!  There was literally clutter and “stuff” everywhere.  It definitely wasn’t a cohesive work environment for a designer.

TOS: How did you feel working in your office AFTER your makeover?

I run my decorating business from my home, and it’s wonderful to finally have a home office that actually feels like a professional space.  I love the bright colors that I was able to incorporate in my accents.  I would now feel comfortable actually having my clients come to my office!

TOS: Do you feel it’s important to have an office/workspace you love in order to be happy at work/while working?

Absolutely!  I’m very affected by my work environment.  I believe a beautiful space can actually make you more productive.

I’m an interior decorator, working with local and online clients, and I write the design blog, Emily Clark.  I’m also a wife and stay-at-home mom of three kids, ages 5 and under!
