Describe your office space to us

Modern shapes, with a mid century influence. I do whatever I can to emulate a 1950’s-60’s feel.

Where did the inspiration for your office space design come from?

The theme of Woods and whites is greatly inspired by Alvar Aalto’s Home, and principles. The metal framework from the custom desk is inspired by many mid century Eames designs.

What is your favorite part/design of your office space and why?

The white walls and consistent wood and white theme throughout the room is my favorite aspect. It allows for a large amount of natural light. I also enjoy the fact that the large amount of paperwork and saved designs are easily accessed; yet hidden in various cabinets throughout the room and closet.

Do you feel that having a well designed and inspiring office has changed the way you and your employees work?

I do freelance design work, so I felt inspired to extend that creativity to my everyday workspace. The changes have definitely helped me feel more productive.

If you could use one word to describe the feel of the office space, what would it be?

Simple. I try to have nothing but what I need, so that everything is easy to find. The decorative aspects are minimal.

Tell us about your company and what it means to you to have a well-designed office space.

I do not necessarily have a company, but having a well designed workspace means realizing that creativity and organization not only increases productivity, but also provides an environment to consistently feel inspired

Your Smartphone Has Been Stolen – Now What Do You Do?

It’s something that most of us who have an iPhone or Android will think about. What if my phone is stolen? Do we fork out another $400-$800 for a new one or downgrade to a “free” phone from our carrier? Cry our eyes out and just move on? You can’t prevent your phone from being stolen but you can prepare and make sure you can track it if it is stolen.

Why I think this app is great:

Track your phone whether its lost or stolen
Lock your phone and keep others away from private data
Backup and restore photos
Sound a loud alarm that will easily attract attention to where your phone might be

TheOfficeStylist: Describe your office to us:

I wanted my office to be comfortable yet sophisticated but not too girly. I chose the gray and white because they are two of my company colors and branding is very important to me. I am constantly consulting clients on how to develop their brand from logo to marketing materials and your office is a reflection of that too.

TOS: What is your favorite part of your office and why?

I love that my office is in the heart of Palm Beach. I am upstairs from two great clothing boutiques, near excellent restaurants and easily accessible to my clients.

TOS: What was your inspiration for your office makeover?

I wanted to incorporate my company pattern, so when I found the curtains from Ballard Designs I went from there.

TOS: How did you feel working in your office before your makeover?

I didn’t move anything in until I had decorated the space. When I first got my office is was four white walls.

TOS: How did you feel working in your office AFTER your makeover?

It’s a little piece of heaven. I love listening to Pandora, burning a candle and working away.

TOS: Do you feel it’s important to have an office/workspace you love in order to be happy at work/while working?

I think your environment is very influential of your mood, creativity and productivity. I always

joke I want to live in my office because I love all of the elements and now want my home to be

decorated more like my office.

PDF Escape – Your solution for editing and filling out PDF’s without having to print them.

I came across PDF escape when I had to send a signed PDF back to one of our vendors. I have a printer + scanner combo but the scanner doesn’t work with Mac so I thought it was time to find a solution for those of us who don’t have scanners or fax machines by our sides.

PDF Escape is a FANTASTIC solution. You don’t need to register to get started and uploading your PDF is a breeze. Once your PDF is uploaded, you can choose to do what you want with it from there. You can choose what page you want to work on and then select what you’d like to do like whiteout, add an image, add lines or insert text.
