Obama’s Office Makeover
See, even the president knows his office environment is a key factor in getting his job done and being happy while working.
President Obama like many presidents before him decided to add his own touches VS. doing a complete office makeover.
His changes:
- Native American pottery pieces throughout the office
- Framed program of the 1963 March for Martin Luther King Jr’s “I have a Dream Speech”
- Models for Samuel Morse’s 1849 telegraph register
It was important for Obama to some things he loved, while keeping the original office in tact. Most importantly, he kept the original Resolute Desk, a gift from Queen Victoria in 1880 and used by almost every president since then. The Resolute Desk is definitely a piece of furniture you would want to keep in your office as it’s filled with so much history and it looks rather grand.
Personal Touches VS Huge Office Overhaul
It wouldn’t look too nice if the president spent $700,000 on an office makeover like some other people we’ve read about in the news. As I’ve stated before, little things can make your office what you want it to be, and the president has done just that.
