About you

What made you decide to start bringing Bindi Sue into work?  Our company, Silverado Senior Living, actively encourages employees to bring their pets to work with them, believing the presence of pets relieves stress, facilitates better working relationships among people, and brings a special kind of energy to the work environment.

How would you describe a typical workday with Bindi Sue? Around here, no day is typical, but we can count on Bindi Sue to amuse us with her antics around the office, help us deal with stress by offering her head for a soothing pet, and get us outdoors for some exercise because she needs to be walked twice during the day.

Would you say that having your pet at work helps or hinders your work? She absolutely helps my work; in fact, I think now it would be hard to work in a place where I couldn’t bring Bindi Sue to the office.

What do clients think/say about Bindi Sue being at the office with you? They think it’s wonderful and many tell me that they wish they could bring their pets to work with them.

Do you think more offices should allow pets at work? Yes.  Having pets in the office transforms the workplace in a very positive way. It’s a major stress-reducer.

What’s your favorite thing about having Bindi Sue at work? It makes me feel like I always have a close and supportive friend at my side. And I enjoy seeing how much she loves being here with me during the day.

What a lovely post! My dog came to work with me every single day for 8 years. She was the best employee I had. She never complained. She was always on time and she was always very helpful. And she was really good with the customers. She was the best public relations person I ever had. Then I closed the business and had to take a job where I couldn’t bring my girl to work with me. My dog was devastated and so was I! It was horrible. I think more businesses would be wise to see the benefit of pets at work. I sure saw it. Customers expected to see my dog when they came in the store. Some of them hid treats in their pockets for her. Dogs take their jobs very, very seriously. Thanks for your wonderful post.
