Where did the inspiration for your office space design come from?
I travel a lot. And I am always so inspired by the big city creativeness, art and just standing out and being different. When I was looking to open an office in Birmingham AL – they were all cubicles or offices that reminded me of a doctors office. I told myself if I was going to do it – it has to be done in a way where people want to hang out there, even if they aren’t working! I wanted it to feel like home. That’s exactly how it feels. Sometimes we hang out and watch TV when we have a break… eat good food, etc. It’s fun!

What is your favorite part/design of your office space and why?
My favorite part has to be the living room. The big white comfy couch is the best thing ever! I love it. And I took elements from pieces I purchased at a local home store and designed something with them together. It was so fun.

Do you feel that having a well designed and inspiring office has changed the way you and your employees work?
Absolutely. Some of us want to come to work to hang out. Which is awesome.  Head in in the AM and drink a cup of coffee together before we start our day and as we watch the morning news. It’s great!

If you could use one word to describe the feel of the office space, what would it be?
Creative.

Tell us about your company and what it means to you to have a well-designed office space.
Solamar Marketing Agency is a creative marketing firm that focuses on the customers experience in everything we do. We do things that most haven’t tried yet. We think independently and outside the lines of traditional thinking so we can stay on the cutting edge of marketing initiatives. We now have a team of 22 people. Half are virtual across the US and the rest are in the office. We also service clients from all over the world!
