Office Style Tip of the Week: Get Rid of Battered and Broken Pens
Why Hello There,
Today is the first (of many more to come!) of Office Style Tip Posts. Every Monday I will start your week out with a tip that will help bring a bit of Style into your workspace. Whether you need to clear part of your desk off, or add a much needed color object, Mondays are the day to do it. Start your week out with change!
As I was saying…
Get rid of battered and broken pens. If your pencil cup has more than 10 writing instruments in them, it’s more than likely not all of them are in working condition. Some of your pens and pencils may still work, but do they have teeth marks at the end of them? Yea, let me just tell you now, it is NOT pretty or chic. I’m sure your clients’ and colleagues will appreciate using writing tools that don’t have evidence they have been in your mouth, or they don’t have to go fishing for a working pen either. A good pen/pencil ratio is as follows:
3 Pencils -I recommend a few of our Fabulous Fashionera Pencils
3 Pens -Can’t live without our Groove Pens
1 Highlighter -Lay this pretty Flower Highlighter on top of your desk
If you seem to lean towards one rather than the other, then 4 total is good enough. If you keep running out of ink with a certain pen, then toss it. If an eraser is not working properly and causing you to avoid using a certain pencil, throw it away.
With Office Style, it’s important to remember that though we may buy certain things to make our workspace pretty, we still need to be able to notice them. Overflowing file folders, pencil cups, and letter trays are the opposite of Style.
Because I care,
The Office Stylist
