1. Try to bring outfits that you can easily mix and match. That way you can wear it from your meeting to a dinner afterward without feeling you need to run back to the hotel to get changed. You can see from the outfits shown above we kept it simple but all items can be worn from day to night. Remember to bring accessories. They don’t take up a lot of space and can transform any outfit. Layout your outfits on your bed so it is easier to visualize and edit out all of the nonessential items you selected.
2. Avoid packing heavy fabric items. Cotton, rayon/matte jersey, cashmere, and wool blends are fabrics that easily fold without causing creases and wrinkles. We recommend staying away from silk and linen. A great tip is- place layers of tissue paper in between your layers of clothing. You can also recycle the plastic cover that you receive your dry cleaning in. Wrap your jacket or suit in that plastic for extra protection.
3. Put the bigger or heavier items on the bottom of the suitcase. Try to limit yourself to bringing 3 pairs of shoes no matter how long your trip is. Put your shoes in a handbag, dust bag, or plastic bag. You can also create extra space if you can pack your shoes (especially flats) in a pocket or place them along the outside perimeter.
4. Keep toiletries to a minimum: No need to bring your biggest tube of toothpaste or jumbo bottle of shampoo!
Buy sample size toothpaste tubes and deodorant. You can also put your toiletries items in a Ziploc or plastic bag to avoid any mishaps.
Have a great trip from Workchic.com!
